The Four Noble Truths (and The Noble Eightfold Path) is one of the world’s greatest teachings—the very foundation of all Dharma practice.

Here, in this excellent teaching, the Buddha offers us the grand possibility of bringing confusion, dissatisfaction, and suffering to a welcome end and clearly describes the Path we must follow to accomplish this liberation.

The four Noble Truths (or Realities) are as follows:

(1) The first Noble Truth (Reality): The truth or reality of dissatisfaction and suffering

(2) The second Noble Truth (Reality): The cause of dissatisfaction and suffering

(3) The third Noble Truth (Reality): The end of dissatisfaction and suffering

(4) The fourth Noble Truth (Reality): The path leading to the end of dissatisfaction and suffering

The following pages will describe each Noble Truth or Reality.
