This section features two classic mind training texts as follows:
(1) Composed by the Buddhist Master Langri Tangpa (1054-1123 A.D.), Eight Verses for Training the Mind is a highly-revered text from the Mahayana Lojong (mind training) tradition. These instructions offer essential practices for cultivating the awakening mind of compassion, wisdom, and love.
(2) “Twenty-Seven Verses on Training the Mind” was composed by Lama Je Tsongkhapa (1357-1419 A.D.). The translation used here is taken from the book Mother of the Buddhas: Meditation on the Prajnaparamita Sutra by Lex Hixon (Wheaton, Illinois: Quest Books, 1993.).
